Some workers of the restaurant known as “El Mural” in Puebla City downtown were responsible of throwing gas to the drainage this afternoon. This fact caused a strong unpleasant smell that warned several city dwellers around this zone. Therefore, the buildings there were evacuated almost immediately even the Department of Puebla’s Tourism, which is so close to the restaurant where the incident occured. Later on, the Civil Defense Principal, Alberto Vivas Arroyo, manifested that the happening would be punished with a fine and the closing of the place.

The lack of  responsability of some workers could have caused and explosion that harmed dozens of people. Situations like this remind us of the need of more strict control policies when managing gas and other fuels commonly used in Puebla’s establishments.
