The RENAUT

RENAUT

RENAUT

I decided to inaugurate this section with a hot topic for Mexicans around the country: The RENAUT. Here are some data that you probably don’t know, and I don’t blame you; little Paulette case is so &/%king interesting!

1: The RENAUT is a civil initiative

Yes, people like you and me proposed this national register to our politicians who attended to the peoples demand. They make the arrangements and now, that civil proposal is on the way. Be careful with what you wish my mother said to me, how right she was…

2: RENAUT registration is only the beginning

This process doesn’t finish after registering your data via SMS or internet, no. Governmental offices will call you in order to verify every line registered under your name. So they can check that number really belongs to our. Question: Could this be done from the beginning and save the rage of millions of Mexicans?

3: RENAUT is in bare bones information compared with the “sección amarilla”

Early this morning, I took the task of looking for more other sources of information where burglars could take your personal information and used for evil means (huahuahahua… this is an evil laugh BTW!) This was a pretty easy task in fact I just had look in something that almost any Mexican have in their living room, “La sección amarilla”. This giant address book contains information about millions of Mexicans who have a telephone line with Telmex.  Information that can be found includes: Telephone number, Full name, and Address. Thinking like a burglar (which I’m not) the address and telephone looks handier than only the name and the birth date, I mean,  they want to rob us, not send birthday gifts, don’t you think?

4: “Sección Amarilla” is in bare bones compared with www.seccionamarilla.com

Just after a quick registration, you can have much more information in the web page of the “Sección Amarilla”. Including the address, the telephone number, Zip Code, full name,  and now you have the directions for finding you address; ideal for the not very skill burglar. This information is provided with only a few clicks and you don’t have to steal the data base to any governmental office, it’s free for everybody and reliable, because it’s provided by Telmex.

5: You can escape the RENAUT!

Pretty basic, but in case you wonder: there’s no way of avoiding the RENAUT. For instance, if you didn’t register, it’s probable that you hours with full cell phone service are counted. You will inevitably be ban and the only way of recovering your service is… doing the register! Yes, you will make this register one way or another. If you want to keep truthful to your conviction and not doing the register, you have only one option, forget about using cell phones in a long time; a quite difficult quest in times ruled by communication and social interaction.

So that’s for my first 5 thins you don’t know about… hope you like it. You’d make me very happy if you give me some feedback; positive, negative, it doesn’t matter, just bring your words and make this an open forum for a discussion that let me tell you; it has only begun, why? Because now politician want to regulate social networks such as Facebook or Twitter, once again a Citizen proposal.
